Accessibility Statement

Accessibility at joefrex.de – the Online Shop of JoeFrex GmbH

JoeFrex GmbH is committed to making its online shop accessible to all users – regardless of physical or technical limitations. For us, accessibility is not a one-time project, but an ongoing process.

Our goal is to operate our shop in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) at conformance level AA.

Current Accessibility Status

Our online shop is currently partially accessible. We have identified known weaknesses and are actively working to address them. We are continuously working to improve these areas step by step and to remove any remaining barriers.

Non-Accessible Content – Overview

The following areas are not yet fully accessible:

  • Colour contrast: Some text and graphic elements do not meet the required contrast ratio.
  • Alternative texts: Some images share identical descriptive alternative texts with adjacent link texts.
  • Keyboard navigation: Navigation via keyboard is largely possible, but partially still limited.
  • PDF documents: Some files available for download are currently not accessible. These will be successively replaced with accessible versions in the future.

Known Limitations in Detail

1. Colour Contrast – Readability of Text Some text elements – in particular price information and helper texts – are displayed in light grey on a white background. The contrast ratio does not yet meet the required minimum of 4.5:1 under WCAG AA. We are working on implementing stronger colour contrast.

2. Search Field – Insufficient Border Contrast The border of the search field does not stand out sufficiently from the page background. This may make it difficult for users with visual impairments to interact with the field. An adjustment is currently being prepared.

3. Images in Links – Duplicate Descriptions In some product areas, linked images contain alternative texts that duplicate the adjacent link text. This may cause screen readers to read out the same information twice. We are revising the alternative texts accordingly.

4. Form Fields Without Labels One email address field features a visible placeholder text, but does not have a technically correct associated label. This may make it difficult for screen reader users to interact with the form.

5. Links with Identical Text Pointing to Different Destinations On certain pages, multiple links using the same text (e.g. “Privacy Policy” or “Help & Support”) point to different URLs. We are updating the link texts to make each one clearly distinguishable.

6. Broken Anchor Link A link in the language switcher references a page section that does not technically exist. This broken reference will be removed in the next revision.

7. Dialog Without Accessible Label A security dialog window integrated via a third-party component does not have a screen-reader-readable label. As this is a third-party component, we are working with the provider to implement an accessible solution.

8. Duplicate Page IDs A page ID has been assigned more than once within the technical page structure. This may cause assistive technologies to incorrectly process certain sections of the page. The fix is scheduled for the next deployment.

Enforcement Procedure

If your enquiry is not answered within a reasonable period of time, you may contact the competent enforcement authority in Bavaria:

Landesamt für Digitalisierung, Breitband und Vermessung (LDBV) IT Service Centre of the Free State of Bavaria Enforcement and Monitoring Authority for Accessible Information Technology St.-Martin-Straße 47 81541 Munich, Germany E-Mail: bitv@bayern.de Website: www.ldbv.bayern.de/digitalisierung/bitv.html

Note: I kept the name of the German authority (LDBV) and its official title untranslated, as these are proper institutional names with no official English equivalent — which is also standard practice in international legal documents.
